Stefan Moody Wins the StatSheet Sun Belt Freshman of the Week - February 11th, 2013

Marcos Knight from Middle Tennessee State has been selected for StatSheet's Sun Belt Player of the Week for February 11th. Stefan Moody has been recognized as StatSheet Sun Belt Freshman of the Week. And last but not least, Middle Tennessee State's Raymond Cintron takes home StatSheet's Sun Belt 6th Man of the Week. Knight put up 60% shooting, 12.5 points per game, and 3 assists per game. The Middle Tennessee State senior played well for the Blue Raiders in wins against Arkansas State and Troy.

Knight contributed 15 points and 11 rebounds in 30 minutes in a 73-60 win over Arkansas State. He then led rebounding with 7 and added 75% shooting in a huge 93-41 win against Troy.

This is the first time that Marcos Knight has been named the StatSheet Sun Belt Player of the Week. However, he has received an honorable mention. The runner-up this week is junior Bryant Mbamalu from Louisiana. Honorable mention goes to Elfrid Payton, a sophomore from Louisiana. The highest ranking player from Florida Atlantic was Jordan McCoy who finished 15th.

StatSheet Sun Belt Freshman of the Week: Florida Atlantic's Stefan Moody

Stefan Moody was on the floor an average of 39 minutes starting both games for Florida Atlantic. His averages in both assists (5.0 per game) and free throws (5.0 per game) topped all Sun Belt freshmen. In an 84-65 loss to Florida International, Moody rang up 6 rebounds and 7 assists. In a 72-71 loss to South Alabama, he dialed up 16 points and 3 assists.

Stefan Moody has won the StatSheet Sun Belt Freshman of the Week an astounding 4 times. Elridge Moore from Louisiana gets runner-up. Honorable mention goes to Shawn Long from Louisiana.

StatSheet Sun Belt 6th Man of the Week: Middle Tennessee State's Raymond Cintron

Senior Raymond Cintron, a 6-0 reserve guard, averaged 18 minutes of action over the two games for the Blue Raiders. In the win over Arkansas State, Cintron put up 6 points and 3 rebounds. Then in the victory against Troy, he led all scoring with 20 points and added 3 assists.

This is the first StatSheet Sun Belt 6th Man of the Week win for Raymond Cintron. Gus Leeper, a sophomore forward from Arkansas-Little Rock, is runner up. Trey Anderson, a senior guard from South Alabama, receives honorable mention. This now means Florida Atlantic players have been named StatSheet Sun Belt Player of the Week 3 times this season.
